Our foundational text has been…

Psalm 145:8-9 NKJV

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.

The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.

Today, we will see through the Word of God how God has a good plan for your life. And how important it is to connect with that good plan He has for you.

Jeremiah 29v11 NIV

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Say this: “Lord, I believe I receive the plans You have for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me a future and a hope.”

Do you know and realize how many people are always coming up with plans for us. Politicians, Social Media, Financial advisors—they all seem to have a plan for our future and our economic security. They have plans to help us buy houses. Plans to fund our retirement. Plans for our health care, medical aid. Almost everyday people are phoning to sell us something and give us a better plan. And people like to use fear-based tactics to get you to sign up. And they think their ideas are brilliant. But they’re wrong. Do you know why? Because their ideas don’t include God. They fall into the scripture of Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right unto a man but it’s end is the way of death.”

Word from the Lord through Brother Copeland – October 2008

Don’t pay attention to or make any plans based on what the media say or what the politicians are saying. Pay attention to Me…. All the other voices will have a plan, a word, an idea, for your future and security. Don’t listen to Babylon’s system. It has fallen apart. My system is stronger than ever. My kingdom is flourishing and THE BLESSING is the place to be. Keep your eyes on My Word. Listen to it. It will guide you. I will perform it. Love Me. Love My people as I have loved you…. Love never fails and neither does My plan. Be very cautious to stay completely clean from covetousness. First Timothy 6:10 must live in the forefront of your thinking. If you will do these things and continue therein, you will come into your wealthy place.

Psalms 66:12 KJV

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

Isaiah 30:1-3 NKJV

Woe to the rebellious children,” says the LORD, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin; 2 Who walk to go down to Egypt, And have not asked My advice, To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt! 3 Therefore the strength of Pharaoh Shall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of Egypt Shall be your humiliation.

I refuse to be rebellious. I will take my counsel from The Lord and His Spirit. His plan is always better. God has a Good Plan, a Master plan and a path that leads to the good life for you. And this good life has already been prepared and stored up for you.

Ephesians 2:10 AMPC

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

Proverbs 4:18 AMPC

But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].

Now some of you might be thinking,

Oh, that is nice to know that God has a great plan and future for my life, but it’s too late for me now. I’ve wasted a lot of time, I’m getting older. Maybe it’s too late for me to connect with God’s plan for my life. Maybe I’ve missed my window of opportunity.

No, it’s never too late. No matter how old you are or what mistakes you’ve made, God still has a great plan ready for you. He will wipe out the past. He will wipe out the sin. He will wipe out the failures that lie behind you. He will give you a clean slate. He is the Great Rectifier, the Great Changer, the Great One of Grace that can turn your mistakes for your good.

If you connect with God’s plan again, He will restore to you the years that locust has eaten.

Joel 2:25-26 NKJV

So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.

Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

If you want to obtain the prize, if you want to enjoy the good life, then you will have to forget the past, reach forward and press.

Most of us were trained by our parents’ generation. We were raised to believe as the world does—that we are responsible for meeting our own material needs and wants. We were brought up to think we have to go out and gather up money for ourselves— that we have to make our own living. We grew up hearing Mom and Dad and Grandma say things like, “Now listen to me, child. You better make good grades in school because if you don’t, you won’t get into university and if you don’t go to university, you’ll never be able to get a good job. You’ll be poor your whole life.” It never occurs to most Christians that there’s anything wrong with that perspective. They don’t realize it’s based on the logic of the world and doesn’t include an ounce of faith in God. They just accept it, and make their financial decisions accordingly. Instead of asking, “What does God want me to do? What does He have planned for me?” they ask, “How can I make enough money to meet my needs?” Then they come up with a way that seems right to them but ends up in death.

It is not for you to decide what you will be or what you will do when you grow up. That has already been decided for you. It’s for you to discover what God has already decided and pre-planned for you.

Everything is done for them [the children of God] that can be done, and nothing but receiving and responding is expected of them. (Rufus Moseley)

God’s plans for each person will be different because we are all unique. But you can be sure His plan for you will be just as good for you as mine is for me.

Now most people are excited when they realize God has a Good plan and a path for them that leads to the good life. They leap for joy at the thought of discovering their divine calling and destiny. But sadly, many of them are stopped cold before they even start. By what? They are stopped cold by fear.

They are afraid that God’s plan will be too hard, that it will cost them more than it will pay.

Listen, it doesn’t cost to serve God, it pays. The most costly and expensive place to be is out of the will of God. The safest place on earth is in the will of God. Don’t be afraid and think that God’s plan will be too difficult.

Matthew 11:28-30 MSG

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.

Some are afraid that God’s plan won’t be any fun, or that it will leave them unfulfilled, dissatisfied, and deprived of the pleasures of life. They are afraid that God will ask more from them than they have the strength to give. But according to the Bible, nothing could be further than the truth. It tells us again and again that God is good, and that His plans for us are glorious. And when the going gets tough, He will substitute His strength for our weaknesses.

How do we begin to connect with the Good Plan God has for us.

  • Right People – (Connect with people that are speaking your faith language)
  • Stay Connected to a good Bible Based Local Church; Partner with the Right ministries.
  • Begin to seek God in His Word. (Jesus found Himself in the Bible)
  • Read books and articles that are in line with the calling and vision of God for your life. (Don’t just read anything)

We want God’s heart…

Acts 13v22 AMPC

And when He had deposed him, He raised up David to be their king; of him He bore witness and said, I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart, who will do all My will and carry out My program fully.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you that You have plans to prosper me and not to harm me. I repent for not submitting to Your plan. I repent for always making my own plans.

I make a fresh commitment today and I choose Your plan for my life. The good plan. The Master Plan. I ask to you to guide me according to Your plan. I will not let fear stop me from following Your plan for my life.

I receive Your plan today by faith. I choose the right people. I choose the right place and I choose Your Good plan for my life. I thank You that I will always be at the right place, at the right time, fulfilling the right plan for my life. I am living the good life which you prepared ahead of time for me. In Jesus name. Amen
