                          Divine Connections

God is very big on relationships. He did not design us to live alone and to live in a vacuum separated from everyone and everything. God created us to have a relationship with Himself and to be in relationship with other people.

Genesis 2:18 NKJV

And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

I want to encourage you to put a stop to getting burnt. Start enjoying the healthy, balanced relationships that God has given you. God wants to help you make wise choices about the people you let into your life, from friendships to business partners to romance. Finding the proper people is an important part of determining God’s will for your life.

The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you indulge mediocrity in others it increases your mediocrity. When people come into your life, they don’t just bring their bodies - they bring their spirits, so be careful who you open yourself up to.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Amp

Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character.

Think about it; almost all of our sorrows spring out of relationships with the wrong people.

Tell me who your best friends are and I will tell you who you are. If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl, but if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights. Spend time with people who are stronger spiritually than you are. They will pull you up to a higher level.

A Bulgarian proverb says, “If you find yourself taking two steps forward and one step backwards, invariably it’s because you have mixed associations in your life”. This is especially true for married couples. Connect with couples who have godly values and esteem one another.

You need to ask God to supernaturally remove you from people and places that are harmful to your spiritual well being.

It is also of utmost importance that you stay connected to the people that God has placed you with. If you don’t have any godly relationships, then begin to pray and ask God to divinely connect you with the right people.

In (Genesis 13:1-11), we read a story about Lot. Lot prospered because of his association with Abram but the minute he disconnected from Abram, everything began to go downhill for him. He disconnected from Abram, the person who had the blessing of God on him and as a result, he landed up in a big mess. He lost his wife and his children ended up not serving God.

So don’t allow the devil to drive you away from the people God wants you to be connected with. Look after your relationships, water and nurture them. Don’t allow strife and offence to disconnect you from the people God has placed you with.

Lot prospered because of his association with Abram. Potiphar prospered because of his association with Joseph. Laban prospered because of his association with Jacob. Proverbs 13:20 says; “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise; but a companion of fools shall be destroyed”.

Pray and ask God to give you a Mentor, a Kingdom Connection that will help link you to your destiny. A Kingdom Connection are people that God puts in your life who act like a bridge to get you to where you are supposed to go.

So I encourage you to look carefully at your closest associations because it's an indication of the direction you are heading.

God bless
