                           It Pays to Obey God

Job 36:11 NKJV

If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

I believe that all of us would enjoy spending our days in prosperity and our years in pleasures. And that is God’s will for all of us. But there is one condition, “If they obey and serve Him”.

Let me tell you that it doesn't cost to obey God, it pays and it doesn't cost to serve God, it pays. There are many Christians who know God and serve God but are not obeying Him. Get into the habit of obeying God.

Can you see the word, “if” in the above verse? That means that the promise is conditional. If we do our part, God will do His part. It’s our choice not God’s.

Let me encourage you…Start obeying God with the small things. Don’t wait for the big ones. If you obey God in the small things that He asks you to do, like forgiving someone or when God asks you to go and pray for that person or give that which you have in your hand, you will be able to recognize Him when He speaks to you about the big things.

Doing nothing when God speaks is enough to affect you adversely. You see, when you hesitate and delay, after God has spoken to you, your adversary, the devil, takes the first step and goes ahead to foul things up against you. So obey quickly.

In Jonah chapter 1 we see Jonah running from God and being disobedient. He goes from the presence of the Lord (Jonah 1:4). God’s presence brings your protection, peace and provision. You don’t want to run from God, you want to run towards Him. Jonah delays the plan of God in His life because of his disobedience.

But thank God for His mercy. When Jonah repented and cried out in the belly of the whale, God heard him and delivered him back onto dry land.

The good news is this. Once you make the decision to be obedient, God will back you to the hilt with His power in order for you to carry out that decision. So He will give you the power to carry out that decision but He can’t make the decision for you.

Acts 5:29 NKJV

But Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought to obey God rather than men."

Obeying God will sometimes mean being unpopular with people. Like Peter and the apostles, we must obey God rather than trying to please people. Be a people person not a people pleaser.

It doesn't cost to obey God, it pays. Obedience always leads to blessings in the end. Whenever Jesus tells you to do something, it will always be to your advantage, never your disadvantage.

Don’t ignore His instructions, no matter how small or insignificant it looks. Just obey quickly and you will spend your days in prosperity and your years in pleasures.

If you would like to sow financial seed into Rhema Faith Life Church, then no matter how small it is, just be obedient and take the first step.

Galatians 6:6 NKJV

Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

As you sow into the Word that you have been taught, God promises that whatever you sow, you will reap. Become a faithful giver every month into this ministry and the same grace, favour and anointing that’s upon this ministry, will become evident and produce mighty fruit in your own life and business.
