Psalm 115-12-16 NKJV

The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. 13 He will bless those who fear the Lord, Both small and great. 14 May the Lord give you increase more and more, You and your children. 15 May you be blessed by the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.

Psalms 67:5-6 NKJV

Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us.

When is the earth going to yield her increase and when is God going to bless you? When you give God Praise.

Psalms 85:12 NKJV

Yes, the Lord will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase.

Psalms 8:1-2 NKJV

O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

Jesus is quoting Psalm 2 here in Matthew.

Matthew 21:14-16 NKJV

Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant

These chief priests and scribes were angry, unhappy that others were praising Jesus. When you begin to praise God, the enemy becomes enraged. Why? Because it renders him speechless. It prevents him from speaking. It silences the enemy and the avenger. Get ready for a revelation. Your adversary wants you to keep your mouth shut. He doesn’t want you to praise God with your mouth open. Why? Because it stills him. It shuts his mouth.

16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infant You have perfected praise’?”

Jesus is quoting Psalm 2:2

V2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

Praise silences the enemy. Strength and praise are synonymous. The joy of the Lord is your strength. If satan can steal your joy, he can keep your goods. Don’t let him steal your joy, your praise.

Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV

…Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Stir up the joy of the Lord that is in you.

Psalm 9:1-4 NKJV

I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, They shall fall and perish at Your presence.

God inhabits the praises of His people. He comes into your midst. When you pray, you come into God’s presence but when you praise, He comes into yours.

For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness.

4 For You have judged in my favor;
from your throne You have judged with fairness.

Acts 16:25-26 NKJV

25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Not just praying but praying and singing.

You need to Balance With Praise

There was a missionary who had contracted smallpox before there was a vaccine. In fact, at that time, it was quite often fatal. As she prayed, the Lord gave her a vision of an old-fashioned balance scale. One side was labeled “Prayer” and the other “Praise.” She noticed the “Prayer” side was stacked up high, while the “Praise” side had just a small stack. It was out of balance.

The Lord spoke to her and said, “When your praises equal your prayers, you will be healed.” She spent two days doing nothing but praising God—she had to get caught up! And during this time she didn’t ask God for anything. At the end of those two days she was completely healed! That’s the power of praise.

Where faith people miss it most is in praising the sacrifice of praise.

Hebrews 13:15 NKJV

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

It’s a sacrifice when you praise. It’s something your flesh doesn’t want to do and the hard part is to continue.

Word from the Lord through Brother Copeland

2 Samuel 6:14-15 NKJV

Then David danced before the Lord with all His might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

2 Chronicles 20:15 NKJV

15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

We don’t do battle. We do victory.

Somebody asked Brother Kenneth E. Hagin, “How goes the battle?”, he replied by saying, “The victory is wonderful. He said I haven’t been in a battle for 65 years because the battle is the Lord’s and the victory is mine”.

Praise passes the battle onto God.

2 Chronicles 20:17 NKJV

17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”

Position Yourselves! Take your position of praise, then stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Fear vanishes and melts in the presence of God.

20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants  Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.”

They never fought the enemy with natural weapons; instead, they fought the enemy with Praise, the Big Gun of Faith.

22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.

Judah means “praise”. Whoever comes against the praises of God will be defeated.

23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. 24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. 25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.

God is going to spoil you. But you must get up and begin to sing and to praise. When you do, the Lord will set ambushes (traps) for your enemies. The traps they set for you, their own feet will get caught in it.

That’s how Praise brings increase into your life.
